Forestport Mill Pond (FMP)
Until recently, BROEP’s youngest kayakers were given instruction on the Black River feeder canal in Boonville. The new Forestport Mill Pond campus offers a spring program that is a significant upgrade. With its slow-moving current, the pond’s huge expanse of open water allows sixth-graders much greater scope to develop their paddling skills in a secluded, wooded setting adjacent to BROEP’s Black River Forest campus. The pond is easily accessed from a state owned boat launch off Route 28.
